The blasting of foundations/bunkers

Up until the beginning of the seventies it was virtually impossible to demolish extensive foundations or ceilings of air-raid shelters without the help of loosening blastings.

It was only with the advent of demolition hammers that an alternative to blasting became available, making a completely mechanical method of demolition possible. Nowadays reinforced concrete walls and air-raid shelter ceilings with a thickness of several metres pose no serious problems for the increasingly effective demolition machines and equipment.

The improvement of blasting agents, however, today also makes it possible to carry out blastings with minimal vibrations. This development among other things has enabled blastings inside buildings.

The high handling safety of explosives has made it possible to conduct supporting loosening blastings without any significant preliminary work.
