Recovery operations

A successful sounding is in the majority of cases followed by the recovery of the impediments detected. These impediments do not necessarily have to consist of explosive ordnance. Other magnetic objects such as steel rims or old cables can cause a disturbance of the magnetic field which has to be investigated.
The machines required for recovery operations are track excavators and mobile excavators with different operating weights and the necessary safety equipment consisting of armoured glass panes.
The use of aluminium shaft rings ensures the undisturbed subsequent sounding in greater depths.
After the successful recovery/uncovering of the explosive ordnance it is either handed over to the explosive ordnance disposal service or disabled or demolished on site, depending on transport safety.
